Liberal Democrat's win a mock election at Stafford school

Brendan McKeown, Stafford Borough Councillor for Chartley ward, beat Jeremy Lefroy, the prospective Tory candidate for Stafford and Ralph Cooke, a Labour Borough Councillor, in a mock election yesterday. Brendan took 46% of the vote in a debate in front of 100 sixth form students at Walton High School in Stafford.

Brendan said "I am delighted with the result. I explained Liberal Democrat proposals on such issues as climate change and environmental matters. It is obvious that young people are deeply concerned about about the threat of global warming. These young people will be eligible to vote at the next General Election and have the power to make their votes count."
